| Painting is developed. Dark to light, however, not too dark as acrylic tends to dry darker than when first applied to the canvas. Diane keeps the painting wetted while working so as to give the appearance of an oil painting. Acrylic, if not careful, can rersult in a "plastic" appearance once dry. To create a more natural looking painting, keeping the surface of the canvas and palette moist is paramount. Some colors are mixed on the palette then applied to canvas, others are applied wet-into-wet directly to the canvas surface. |
