Here is a sturdy portable kit I made from a box that can be found in most drug or department stores. Originally given to me as a gift, I wanted to create something smaller than my two larger, heavier pack easels for the field. It functions perfectly on a lap (or a tripod mount could be attached). You can be up and painting withint 2 minutes. The most time is taken in opening and closing paint tubes :)
