Lavender Festival

Started en plein air and completed in the studio, this is the centerpiece painting for my growing offering of lavender paintings. This is home to the only current lavender garden in the state of North Carolina. Each year, the owners opens up their garden a week before harvest for the public to enjoy. It's a festive day which I will develop more fully in a future painting. For this, I simply wanted the home and grounds alone for the viewer to absorb personally.
