Meet Diane

JOHNSON has been a painter, instructor, author and juror, serving art collectors and artists since 1981. She was the Founding Editor and designer of the of the award-winning monthly, Plein Air Magazine (now tltled Fine Art Connoisseur), and travels the U.S. and Europe to paint loive on locaton. She has authored many art articles, demonstrations, books, is owner of Plein Air Wear, and ArtWise (blog for artists.)

Johnson is a full-member of the prestigious Pastel Society of America; Signature Member of the National Society of Acrylic Painters, Plein Air Painters of the Southeast, Plein Air Painters of Hawaii, and International Plein Air Painters. As confirmation of her rapid development as a rising artist, Johnson was selected in 1988 as one of the top 100 emerging artists in the U.S. by the American Artist magazine, selected as a finalist in the 1988 national still-life competition held by The Artist's Magazine and rated as one of the top 10 "Best Buys" for investment art by The Roanoker magazine in 1990. Johnson has received numerous awards for her work, and by 1998 was listed in the Who's Who in American Art, Who's Who in the South and Southwest. In 2000, she was invited to participate in the first-ever, White House Conference on Culture and Humanities.

Johnson's work has been eagerly sought by corporate and private collectors alike on a national scale. Her original work can be obtained directly through her studio or the fine gallery partners listed below.

She is a native of New Jersey, and currently lives with her husband in beautiful Cary, North Carolina.
